Ramboll gave a presentation on Energy Renovation to tecnicians in Greenlandic municipalities
Ramboll Greenland gave a presentation on Energy Renovatin of Buildings, to the technicians of the Greenlandic Municipalities during their annual meeting in Sisimiut.
The presentation provided an introduction to the policies of today, and identified the areas of interest. A set of tools from the association "Danish Industry" were also mentioned, designed to help move forward. The presentation also gave some notes on getting started.
- Insulating the attic/roof
- Sealing windows, doors and other cracks/leaks
- Replacing old furnace, boiler and heat pump
- Control measures to maximize cooling in radiators
These are all subjects that pay off very quickly, some already within a few years.
If you are planning new constructions, it certainly pays off to move a lot further than the Greenlandic regulations demands. It only costs an additional 6-8% to nearly double the insulation. In return you save eg. $15 every month on heating, in a block with 12 apartments.
